Medina Publishing LLC, formed in 2017, is the United Arab Emirates based independent representative of Medina Publishing Ltd, formed in 2009 in the United Kingdom, with offices in London and on the Isle of Wight.
Often iconoclastic, Medina Publishing has established a reputation for high quality books on the Arabian Peninsula and Islamic affairs, from academic works to illustrated children’s books. More recently, it has branched out into such diverse areas as biography and memoirs, cli-fi and YA, photography and politics. Academic and out-of-print books are facilitated under the imprint Arabian Publishing and romance and humour under the imprint Barzipan Publishing.
Much of our success is due to our titles which focus on cultural history and education such as Saluki: Hound of the Bedouin, Sharifa: The Story of an Arabian Horse, Discovering Islamic Art and The Secret of the Cave, which was the 2019 ‘Best International Children’s Book’ winner at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival.
We have created teaching resources suitable for children aged 7+ for The Pearl Diver, an ESL supplement for secondary and university students for Catastrophes, Crashes and Crimes: Newspaper Articles of the 1970s and a series of lesson plans spanning Grades 1-9 for Discovering the United Arab Emirates.
